Congratulations
to this year's Lifetime Achievement Award
recipient, Betsy Plank.
At this year's Golden Trumpet luncheon, we are
proud to honor Betsy Plank, the first woman
president of the Publicity Club of Chicago.
Plank is the only person to have been president
of four Chicago communications organizations:
Publicity Club of Chicago (1963); Welfare Public
Relations Forum (1966-67); Chicago Chapter PRSA
(1969); and the Public Relations Forum (1979).

asked to do more. The suburbs are not exempt from this phenomenon.
Representatives from suburban media discussed the impact of these cuts at the
recent Publicity Club of Chicago luncheon, held in Skokie, Ill.

Media to Enhance Corporate Reputation
Kathleen Cantillon (from left),
James Terman, Jon Harmon and Kathy
Schaeffer.
Kathy Schaeffer, president of
Kathy Schaeffer and Associates,
moderated a panel discussion that
took a personal and comprehensive
look at ways that PR pros can help
restore or maintain confidence in a
company and its brand/identity.
Highlighting the PCC Executive Roundtable in
February were Kathleen Cantillon, director,
external communications for Exelon Corporation;
Jon Harmon, vice president, communications and
reputation for Navistar, Inc; and James Terman,
president and CFO for Jasculca/Terman and
Associates, Inc.
Dozens of Chicago PR pros took part in this
year's PCC Education Series, getting in-depth
information about essential components of the
modern PR toolkit.
PCC's "Jobs in P.R." mailing list was created
with you in mind. It's a "discussion" list; any
member of the list may post a message to the
list, announcing an open position or letting
your colleagues know you're available for job
offers. (Read the
full story and learn how to sign up...)
