Golden Trumpet Awards - 2008
49 Gold and 97 Silver Trumpets Awarded
Top Three Awards Announced
Robin Robinson, FOX 32 Chicago anchor and reporter, and Dean
Richards, WGN entertainment reporter and critic, were co-presenters
at the Publicity Club of Chicago’s (PCC’s) 49th annual Golden
Trumpet Awards, held May 9 at The Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.
Nearly 500 public relations and communications professionals and
their clients attended the awards event, which annually honors
distinguished individual achievement of public relations and other
communications professionals. In total, 49 Golden Trumpets and 97
Silver Trumpets were awarded for campaigns produced in 2007. All
awards entries were evaluated earlier this year by leading Chicago
area public relations executives, who selected “the best of the
best.”
Harold Burson, founder and chairman of Burson-Marsteller, one of the
nation’s leading integrated-marketing communications agencies,
received the PCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Three top awards also
were given, recognizing the industry’s best initiatives in 2008.
These illustrate creativity, quality of life, and the best overall
execution of public relations.
