Ann Dwyer oversees all aspects of Crain's news operation. She was named editor in January 2019, the first woman to fill the position since the publication's founding in 1978.

Dwyer came to Crain's from the Chicago Tribune in 1995 as a copy editor, eventually moving to the news desk and later running some of the publication's highest-profile features, including 40 Under 40, Best Places to Work, Coolest Offices and the Fast 50. She has frequently been the broadcast voice of Crain's, appearing regularly on the BBC, WBBM-AM's "Noon Business Hour" and on WTTW-TV's "Chicago Tonight." Since 2011, Dwyer has been responsible for writing the bulk of Crain's editorials, a duty that has garnered her and the publication a steady stream of awards from the Chicago Headline Club's annual Lisagor competition and from the Alliance of Area Business Publishers. In March 2016, she became managing editor, taking over day-to-day newsroom operations in digital and in print.

A native of Oak Park, Dwyer studied English and journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has won awards for reporting, editing and headline writing from the Illinois Press Association, the Illinois Associated Press Editors Association and the Society of American Business Editors & Writers, among others. She lives in Arlington Heights with her two children, a husband who puts up with her Starbucks addiction as well as a dog who protects them all from the mailman.

Greg Hinz is Crain's blogger and columnist on politics and government in Chicago, Illinois and the nation. A prize-winning reporter, Hinz also writes frequently on such public policy issues as education, transportation and economic development.

He joined Crain's in 1996, after four years as political editor of Chicago magazine and nearly two decades as political editor and columnist with the Lerner Newspapers chain. His work has been honored by the Society of Business Editors & Writers and the Chicago Headline Club, among other professional organizations.

Hinz is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He took a brief leave of absence from journalism to serve as press secretary for the Carter/Mondale campaign in Illinois in 1980.

A.D. Quig joined Crain's Chicago Business in July 2019 to cover expanded local politics and government beat. She comes to Crain's from the Daily Line, a local newsroom she helped build. There, she covered a range of subjects and issues, with a particular focus on Cook County government. She also has been deeply involved in the "Aldercast," the Daily Line's podcast.

Prior to joining the Daily Line in 2015, Quig was a producer for NPR's daily call-in current events show, "Talk of the Nation," Ken Rudin's "Political Junkie" podcast and Chicago radio startup Rivet. She also worked at WSBT radio in her hometown of South Bend, Indiana.

Quig is a 2012 graduate of Indiana University's journalism school, where she focused on political science and radio.
